Something shifts when I ask my clients the following three questions:

What is the quality of love and belonging in your life?
Who is there in your life to share and receive love?
How do you love yourself?

I ask these questions when helping clients enrich their “I BELONG” Emotional Rights.

In response, I hear comments such as, “I have been ignoring how isolated I have been feeling for so long, feel stuck.” “I wonder if I am with the right partner.” “I’d rather be alone than be in a toxic relationship.”

Often I see tears, eyes closed, deep sighs, and bewildered faces.

Numerous people in our society, especially executives at a higher rate, struggle with diminished intimacy, connection, and closeness.

A 2019 Harvard Business Review article stated that 50 percent of CEOs experience feelings of loneliness in their roles. In a 2022 research by Deloitte, 30% of executives reported that they always or often feel lonely.

This is beyond the case of “it’s lonely at the top.” This is loneliness as a lifestyle.

My research and observation show that executives’ loneliness is pervasive and reaches deep into their personal and family lives. They often dismiss this reality or have succumbed to it as the price for success.

Meaningful belonging is often a gap for many executives. A risk factor. Other data also show that the rate of depression is two to three times higher among executives than in the general population, with loneliness as the leading cause.

There is a better way. After 30 years of research, I have identified practical steps on how to go from isolation, anxiety, and depression to quickly living a life of optimal fulfillment and belonging.My executive clients often experience a gush of emotional release, insight, and clarity.

They are often surprised by their better, faster, and lasting outcomes. The outcomes are often achieved in five sessions.
